If it’s true that we’re living through another Bluegrass revival like that of the 60s and 70s, then FireFish Unit is part of that same current. Each member of the band comes from a different musical background such as Jazz, Psychedelic Rock, Country, and Folk, but by sitting under the Bluegrass umbrella, the band has managed to unify their sound, creating something that feels familiar, but fresh.

Based out of Richmond, Virginia, FireFish Unit’s current line up features Juliet Scout Santos singing lead vocals and playing rhythm guitar, Dagan Kitner on upright bass, Thomas Gwaltney on lead guitar and Sean Riley on the mandolin. Just as earlier revivalists carried forward the spirit of the 40s and 50s, FireFish reshapes their roots into something restless, modern, and uniquely their own.

*Beers and banjos is a FREE happy hour concert from 6-8pm on the 1st, 3rd (and 5th) Fridays of each month at The Camel. Tickets ARE NOT required for admission. Limited table reservations are available in advance, but not required for attendance. Reserved tables will be held until 6:30pm and are non-refundable. Additional seating available at the bar.*
