Bennett Wales & The Relief
Bennett Wales & The Relief
Virginia Beach’s Bennett Wales & the Relief are living proof that raw talent, ambition & honesty can still prevail in an ailing music industry. The bands musical discoveries take flight with a compelling combination of rich pop layers & mixed stylings of rhythm & blues, rock & Americana. By melding hook-filled melody within groove-able rhythms, Bennett Wales & the Relief show their ability to compact a vast array of influence & experience into a singular & distinct sound.

Together the quintet provides a vast amount of influences & gift a broadened door of multiple genre stylings to music enthusiasts & listeners alike. Some of the top band influences consist of: Alabama Shakes, Chris Stapleton, The Meters, Little Feat, Black Joe Lewis & the Honey Bears, Vulfpeck & Black Angels.

Though Bennett Wales and his musicians have spent a lifetime saturated in music, song writing and performance, the release of the debut album, "Flood Without Water" is what marks their true musical introduction to the world. "Flood Without Water" was recorded in April at a Blue Ridge Mountain cabin retreat-turned-music studio with engineer, Chris Utley (Steven Tyler, John Mayer and more) of Benchmark Sound off Music Row in Nashville.

As a very young band, the Relief are experiencing a quickly blossoming career of festival bookings, one off shows and regional tours. They have already shared the the stage with some notable national acts such as: The Record Company, Anderson East, Sister Sparrow, Rusted Root, Ripe, Ocean Blue, Peoples Blues of Richmond, Kai Mani Marley, Red Man & Method Man.
Nicky Lee & The Wiz
Nicky Lee & The Wiz
Nicky Lee is a Singer/Songwriter who incorporates elements of Soul, Reggae, and Blues creating an easy going yet deep listening experience. His songs interpret a reflection of social distortion and personal emotion through a storytelling type style. As the former front man of Richmond-based Reggae/Soul band Nesta, the group became a staple in the region's music scene while performing house shows to larger venues such as The National, The Broadberry and, their "home base", The Camel. Now-a-days you can catch him performing throughout the region acoustically, either as a solo or duo act.

The Wiz cut his teeth within the RVA scene as an indie-jock in the late 90's, drumming for bands such as Fulflej & Zentraedi. He joined forces with Nicky Lee in 2013 to make up 1/2 of Nesta. He now occasionally provides Mr. Lee with low frequencies and spiritual guidance.
