Robbin Steel Band

The four decades of musical & personal association this band represents becomes immediately evident upon hearing it. Styling themselves as an industrial strength blue collar British Blues Pub band, they take a no nonsense approach to fulfilling this roll wherever they play.
The material is a blend of Classic Roots & Chicago electric blues with some 60’s Americana, British Blues and a studied conceptual take on some well known contemporary artist’s covers that are always within the context of their targeted era so as to never compromise the continuity of their overall sound.
Aptly described as “ The best band you never heard in your life” they soldier on keeping the hard rock, folk rock & British blues from the 60's alive. They have an uncompromising dedication to the sound of the bands that played the legendary Marquee Club in London in the 60's. Specifically the music of John Mayall & the Blues Breakers, The Rolling Stones, Savoy Brown, early Fleetwood Mac, Small Faces, Spencer Davis, Yardbirds, THEM, Georgie Fame, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and early Beatles R&B. They also include songs of the Chicago urban electric blues masters such as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter and Junior Parker. They mix in some Swing by Louie Jordan as well as material by more contemporary artists John Hiatt, Tom Petty, Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe and Lucinda Williams. A few rearrangements of early Bob Dylan as well. Although members of the River City Blues Society, their Blues is different in the way that does not depend on or ballyhoo the instrumental virtuosity of any particular band member.
