Jimmy Fitch
Jimmy Fitch's debut album, Promised Land EP, embraces the influences and styles of country music's past generations with a rough edge to create 4 songs about life, love, and hard times.

Recorded at the Compound Recording Studio in Austin, Texas, the Promised Land EP was Fitch's first project in the studio.

"I was able to record with some of the best musicians Texas had to offer. Some of these guys had played on the records that I listened to growing up and even tour with the bands that my buddies and I listen to now. It was an amazing experience."

The title track, "Promised Land," is Fitch's favorite on the album because it incorporates his love for outlaws, drifters, trains and the Wild West.

"Really the whole song is written about a drifter trying to turn his life around without changing all the things that are dragging him down: the women, the whiskey and his trouble with the law."

Originally from Midlothian, Virginia, Fitch is currently finishing up his last year of college at Virginia Tech, where he has played several gigs and even spent one year on the football team.

While recording in Austin, Fitch had the opportunity to play a few gigs and even saw some of country music's all-time greats.

"Seeing Merle Haggard perform live at the John T. Floore Country Store was one of the highlights of the summer. He just turned 77 but is still up there going strong. Talk about an inspiration. He's had such a big influence on me as a songwriter and performer and seeing him only added fuel to my fire. I'm hoping to do this music thing until I'm no longer able."

Looking ahead, the sky is the limit for Fitch. With the launch of his inaugural EP, several shows lined up and a head full of steam, Fitch is excited for what is in store.
