Caustic Castle, is Kenneth Yates of Harm Stryker & Insects with Tits. A> co-founder of 804noise Richmond Experimental, a collective of artists and enthusiast from Richmond, Virginia and the many surrounding areas> responsible for organizing events around experimental, noise & avant garde ideas since December 2001. 804noise also laid the foundation for a much> broader autonomous network of area code based collectives under what is known as (areacode)noise.

Sculptural and solid, exuberant and elusive. The potential becomes actual, then slips back into the invisible world. Standing waves rotate and greedily usurp physical space by imposing their presence. Recognizable interference patterns. Pre- present and post- collapsed wave functions … holographic, object-like and sturdy. ‘Marxophone’ zither improvisation CD> on Sockets CDR. Curator of the Super Basic improv workshop Thursday nights at Black Hand Cafe & organizer with 804noise.

Based in New York City, the musical group KIOKU presents traditional Asian folk music within a new context of collaborative experimentation and improvisation. The trio consists of Wynn Yamami (East and Southeast Asian percussion, including Japanese taiko, Korean gongs, and Filipino kulintang), Christopher Ariza (live laptop electronics), and Ali Sakkal (saxophones, percussion). While committed to the preservation of musical traditions, KIOKU (Japanese for “memory”) acknowledges the plasticity of tradition and freely adopts musical techniques found within improv-based and new music circles.
